Microbial Test Kits
[ About ATP ] Aerobic Test Kits Instructions for using Petrifilm in the field
Step 1
Pull out Petrifilm and label. |
|
Step 2 Pull up plastic protective cover. |
|
Step 3 Put one mL of test solution onto the absorbant gel (this is nutrient). |
|
Step 4 Fold protective plastic cover over the water spot. Take plastic imprinting device and
squeeze down (this encases the water sample in a plastic bubble). |
|
Step 5 Count the number of red dots. Each red dot is a colony forming unit (CFU) of cells.
Since 1 mL of solution was added, the number of red dots equal CFU/mL. |

Total Microbes Test Kit (ATP)
Why use ATP tests instead of dip slides?ATP is a compound which is found in all living cells. ATP combines with a
chemical found in fireflies to give off light. The AMSA one shot patented syringe tip contains the same chemicals that are found in a firefly. With the droplet of water sample is plunged into the syringe
tip, light is given off if there are any microbes in the water. When the syringe is put into the ATP unit, it measures the amount of light. The amount of light is proportional to the number of
living cells. AMSA brings not only the best biocide, cleaner, but the best and newest in technology to the smaller purchaser. Click here to learn more about ATP...
