Stewardship & Application Notes

DTEA chemistry is a rich chemistry with many uses, corrosion inhibitor, chelant, surfactant, dispersant, mineral floatation, fungicide, algaecide, bactericide, molluskicide, and other properties in the same way as is the chemistry of quaternary ammonium compounds, aldehydes, and many other chemical classes able to serve many needs. DTEA II (trademark) is a product name which is made with the DTEA chemical family sold for water treatment but it is not sold, promoted, or positioned as biocide. There are many good biocides but which have no other function in water treatment. DTEA II has unique properties as an organic deposit removal agent and mineral floatation agent and it is sold for that purpose only. Of this DTEA chemical family, AMSA DTEA 15%, Antimicrobial DTEA 15% (Dow), and the supplemental registered names of the Dow produced are the only products were sold, promoted, or use as both biocide and as cleaner but under seperate label requirements. The original Dow DTEA chemistry is no longer sold by Dow in the USA. The AMSA DTEA II chemistry is proprietary and unique with respect to the Dow DTEA technology. AMSA DTEA II is improved and  unique.
